About the new CR-V full model change engine lineup
The engine is the same as the old model “2.0L straight 4 DOHC i-VTEC + motor (e: HEV)” maximum output 107kW (145ps) / 6,200rpm + motor 135kW (184ps) / 5,000-6,000rpm and “1.5L 4-cylinder turbo engine VTEC Turbo The line-up includes a maximum output of 140 kW (190 PS) / 5,600 rpm. In addition, we plan to line up a pure EV model with “1.5L in-line 4-cylinder engine + electric motor (SPORT HYBRID e +)” 77kW (105PS) / 5,500rpm + 135kW (184PS) / 5,000-6,000rpm.
New CR-V plug-in hybrid “SPORT HYBRID e+”
The same 1.5L in-line 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine as the Clarity PHEV is combined with a 2-motor hybrid system. It achieves powerful driving with a maximum output of 135 kW (184 PS) and maximum torque of 315 N m (32.1 kgm), and an EV driving range (driving range when using charging power) of 1114.6 km. The in-line 4-cylinder 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine pursues improved thermal efficiency and low emissions, achieving a maximum thermal efficiency of 40.5%, the world’s top level. The intelligent power unit (IPU), which integrates a high-capacity, high-output battery with a total power consumption of 17.0 kWh and a high-voltage device, is thinned and placed under the floor, and the harness and 12V DC-DC converter are stored in the center tunnel. It achieves a wide interior space and a low overall height sedan form. In addition, a water-cooling system is used to cool the battery, and by efficiently cooling it with a compact layout, it is possible to reduce the size and improve the durability of the battery. Equipped with three drive modes: “EV Drive”, “Hybrid Drive” and “Engine Drive”. Focusing on EV driving, it automatically selects and seamlessly switches to the optimal mode at all times according to the state of charge of the battery and driving conditions.
