108 Nissan Leaf recalled
On October 6, 2022, Nissan announced that it had notified the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of the recall that there was a fastening nut on the Leaf body (back door hinge) that was tightened with a tightening torque that exceeded the specified. Based on the information from the company, it is reported that the current number of defects is 0 and no accidents have occurred.
The recall applies to models produced between June 6, 2022 and June 10, 2022..The production period does not match the purchase periodso be sure to check.
Nissan is telling you to have your vehicle checked and repaired as soon as possible if the model you own is applicable. These measures will be implemented as needed from October 7, 2022.
You can check whether your vehicle is eligible for the recall, improvement measures, or service campaign by searching for vehicles eligible for the campaign.
If your car is subject to a recall, you will need to make an appointment to visit the nearest dealer and have it inspected and repaired. Repair charges are free and there are no costs.
Nissan LEAF Malfunction Status
Regarding the Leaf body (back door hinge), due to inappropriate work instructions and inspection instructions in some manufacturing processes, there were some fastening nuts to the body that were tightened with a tightening torque that exceeded the specified torque.
Therefore, it seems that one side of the hinge may come off and violate the robustness standard stipulated in Article 18 of the Safety Standards.
In response to this, Nissan reports that all vehicles, back door hinges and fastening nuts will be replaced.
