Subaru begins production of 2023 Outback model in the U.S.
North America Subaru has announced the 2023 model of the Subaru Outback, a legacy SUV crossover model.
The new Outback not only has enhanced safety technology and an in-vehicle multimedia system, but also has a significantly changed front face.
In addition to minor improvements, the 2023 model of the Outback will appear with a completely different impression.

Main changes from the current model
The most eye-catching big change is the design change of the front face. The headlights and front grill have been enlarged, and the design of the front bumper has also been changed to a bold one.
Subaru’s driving support function “EyeSight” has been replaced with the latest version, and the operating range and safety have been expanded by updating the hardware and control software. Some models are equipped with a wide-angle monocular camera on the front that plays an active role at intersections with poor visibility.
The North American version of the Outback comes standard with a 182PS 2.5L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder engine, but the 2023 models called “XT” and “Wilderness” have a powerful 2.4L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder turbo engine. It is standard equipment.
This 2.4L turbo engine delivers a maximum output of 260hp/5,600rpm and a maximum torque of 38.3kgm/2,000-4,800rpm. The Onyx Edition, which adds special accents to the interior and exterior, has two engines to choose from.
In addition, it seems that the display audio will be updated to the latest version of 11.6 inches.
Of course, all outback models are equipped with symmetrical AWD with X mode that demonstrates high performance on rough roads. It is also worth noting that the 2023 model has a base price of $ 28,395 (about 3.9 million yen), which is cheaper than the 2022 model.
Will Japan make similar changes in the next annual improvement?
What is expected is whether or not an Outback with changes close to this big minor change will be introduced to Japan. The current model was sold in October 2021, so it will be the time to receive annual improvements.
