Ranking of cool moped models selected by the MOBY editorial department by domestic and foreign models! We selected a unique design while maintaining the looks of a moped.
The current moped bike is only 4 strokes!

When choosing a moped, many people are wondering whether to choose a 4-stroke (4-stroke) or 2-stroke (2-stroke) engine. However, due to exhaust gas regulations, all current 50cc moped models are now 4-stroke.
Some overseas manufacturers and past models have 2-strokes, and it seems that some drivers dare to purchase a 2-stroke moped.
What is a 4-stroke engine
A 4-stroke engine has four stages until the fuel in the cylinder explodes. Each process is performed in the order of “intake”, “compression”, “combustion/expansion”, and “exhaust”.
– | Itinerary | content |
---|---|---|
1 | inhalation | Open the intake valve, suck air into the cylinder, At the same time, fuel is also injected to create a mixture of fuel and air. |
2 | compression | By closing the intake valve and moving by inertia, the piston Compresses the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder. |
3 | Combustion/Expansion | Ignite the air-fuel mixture with a spark plug, Explode and push the cylinder vigorously. |
Four | exhaust | Open the exhaust valve to release the exhaust gas after the explosion. |
The advantage of a 4-stroke engine is better fuel efficiency and cleaner emissions than a 2-stroke engine. In addition, the point that the power comes out flat from low rotation to high rotation leads to ease of driving.
The disadvantage is that the number of engine parts is larger than that of the 2-stroke, which will be introduced later, and the construction is complicated. Also, the power is lower than the 2-stroke engine of the engine.
What is a 2-stroke engine
The 2-stroke engine is no longer installed in Japan due to exhaust gas regulations. Also known as a 2-cycle engine, it achieves higher output than a 4-stroke engine, and is lightweight and easy to maintain.
However, there are problems such as loud exhaust noise, poor fuel efficiency, and many harmful substances in the exhaust gas.
