Toyota Europe announced the new “Land Cruiser Prado” special specification car “Matte Black Edition” on July 7, 2022 (local time).On August 2, 2022, the “Matte Black Edition”, the last special specification car of the 150 series, will be released in Japan with some improvements.

As the name implies, the “Matte Black Edition” applies a matte black finish to the details of the exterior of the vehicle to convey the basic strength and purpose of the Land Cruiser. The front includes a surround and vertical bar on the grill, an upper garnish on the headlights, and a fog light bezel. Similarly, the side steps, roof rails, door mirror casings and 18-inch alloy wheels are matte black along with the backdoor garnish above the license plate.
The interior is also neat, with black seatbacks and cushions combined with side bolsters to select two new leather seating options as opposed to gray or saddle tongue.
It is a 5-door body style and can be used with the top grade of Land Cruiser. It is equipped with an existing all-wheel drive powertrain equipped with a 4-cylinder 2,8-liter turbo diesel engine, producing 500 Nm of torque and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
